Fastex Bullet Coating is a very efficient and superior alternative treatment to moly (molybdenum disulphide). As it contains the proprietary Fastex Surface Modifier technology and no solids, there is reduced build up in the barrel. This provides more consistency, accuracy and reduced copper fouling. Once coated and dry, no special handling is required.
Here are two proven application procedures:
Using Hot Air:
Place Fastex Bullet Coating into a suitable metal container. Warm the bullet surface temperature, using hot air, to a minimum temperature of 140°F (60°C). Using a metal sieve, immerse the bullets into the Fastex Bullet Coating making sure they remain fully covered for 2 - 3 minutes. Ensure the entire surface is in contact with the liquid. Remove bullets and allow excess lube to drain off. Heat dry with hot air or leave to air dry completely before use.
Using Hot Water:
Run hot water from a regular tap. Water needs to be just hot enough to bond 140°F (60°C). Do not use boiling water. If the water is too hot it may cause bi-metal expansion of the bullet. Place the bullets in a metal sieve and run the hot water over them for about a minute. Dry them off with a cloth to remove surplus water. Place the warm bullets back into the sieve and pour the Fastex Bullet Coating over them, shaking slightly to ensure coverage. Leave them to air dry.
Do not pack bullets in storage for at least 24 hours following coating.
Note: Some Fastex Gun Care Products have been assigned NATO Stocking numbers and certain Fastex Gun Care Products have been accepted for use in several countries since 1996 by special units of the military, law enforcement and armorer’s training facilities.
